i used to have this friend - it's been almost ten years now. i have not seen him since, as i haven't kept contact. when i was there he would drive us around in his car. up into the mountains. or he would get a bus to take the whole bunch of us to the islands - to whale watch and to see most stunning nature all day long. he would drive us to the amazing olympic national park, where i saw my first rainforest. we were always wandering the coast, day and night, past shipwrecks and along railroad tracks and also wandering the mountains - quiet mountains, streams and wild nature. once he called a radio station, asking them to play a song for me. and when i left, he stuffed a blue bunny into my luggage for me to find it the moment the plane took off ground. i thought of him the other day regretting not having an email adress...
today i learned that steve took his life last october.
